2024 Power Rankings – Week 8

  1. Team Maxson (5-3; Johnathan Maxson): No one, and I mean no one, on Johnthan’s team missed this week. Talk about a group effort from this bunch. As the season goes on, I am becoming more and more scared of Johnathan’s group and think they will have a strong case for a division title by the end of the season.

2. The Nightman Cometh (5-3; Craig Stalowski): Craig’s team answered the bell in week 8 against Ant with every starter doing just about what was expected of them. Even then a little luck was needed as Jordan Mason went down for Ant early in his game; limiting him to only 1.8pts. Craig now finds himself atop of a rather competitive division – cant take his eyes off the prize now.

3. Lambeau Leapin’ Lambs (4-4; Evan Clayton): Evan found himself against a rebounding Jimmy, and Jordan Love and Jayden Reed being oddly quiet did not help his chances. CeeDee Lamb almost pulled it out for Evan with a massive 39pt performance, but it just wasn’t enough. Definitely, the best 4-4 team in the BFL at the moment, and arguably still the best team, period. But you need those wins to ascend.

4. The Bonkers (5-2; Anthony DiMinno): Ant had two-weeks-in-a-row with easy matchups that led to two victories. Unfortunately, that fortune of easy matchups evaporated against Craig. Even worse, Jordan Mason went down early, effectively sealing Ant’s fate. Ant now has two SF RBs, both with injuries. What luck.

5. Phoenixville Horn Dogs (5-3; John Williams): John was a little fortunate in his matchup this week against Nick. Even with a strong portion of his starters underperforming, Daniels and Achane did enough to propel John to a nice, easy win. This group will need a wakeup call as things may not be as easy against Ant in week 9.

6. IHOP for Touchdowns (4-4; Pat Masur): It’s ‘National TE day’, and Baker Mayfield needs to throw to somebody? Well come on down Cade Otton, and welcome to the party. Pat went with a rare two TE play this past week and it paid off dividends with his second week in a row of being the best team in the BFL. Pat’s team seems to be finding a rhythm as they’ve won 3 of their last 4, and look to make it 3-in-a-row against Jimmy.

7. The Horn Knee Grimaces (4-4; Greg Flohs): By all measures, Greg’s team played well. But like the Mets in the NLCS, Greg’s team just ran into a stronger opponent. A slight name change for this crew is the hopefully spark to turn this ship around; as Greg’s group has lost 4-in-a-row.

8. Milk Milk Lemonade (4-4; Sean Washington): Man, if Sean just waited one more week to trade for Breece Hall, he probably would have won. This is to not say his team did not play well, it was just a deciding factor. Steve thanks you for your service.

9. Gettleman’s Hog Mollies (4-4; Jimmy Campbell): Jimmy’s team heard my “dark horse” comment a week ago and decided ‘enough was enough’. With the power of Smith, McBride and Jacobs, Jimmy dropped a buck-twenty-five on Evan which was just enough to knock down one of the best in the BFL. This could save Jimmy from punishment, but is it a sign for a playoff push? Who’s to say; let’s see week 9.

10. Fantasy Football Team (3-5; Steve Katz): Steve with 3-in-a-row and with, seemingly, a revitalized team! Gibbs and Montgomery really have been carrying Steve the past few weeks. A rare move starting two RBs from the same team, but it’s certainly paying off. Steve is slowly removing himself from a Lemonade stand.

11. Sparta Waffle Eaters (3-5; Josh Tucci): Josh now utilizes Amari Cooper on the Bills, and he does….nothing. Top that off with Johnathan just ramrodding through Josh in their week 8 matchup, and Josh’s team is running out the luck they found earlier this year. Luckily for Josh, Nick’s team continues to lose as well.

12. K9 Dawg Pound (2-5; Nick Calabrase): Nick continues his slump as the only team with no more than 2 wins. Nick confessed that he was faced with the choice of Jake Ferguson or Cade Otton on the waiver wire. He selected Jake, who only scored 8pts; while Otton dropped 29. Truly a difference maker for Nick in week 8. Onto week 9, Nick.
