2024 Week 0 Power Rankings – Draft Grades

As we kick off the 2024 season, I have taken liberties to give draft grades to each team. I want it to be known that this was written completely by me, with no assistance of “grading” websites online. Truly – it is just the draft grades of some 4-time loser/meme lord. Now without further ado:

  1. Nick Calabrase (Cheetah Kings):
Pros: Nick quietly put together a roster that could see him repeat. Probably one of the best RB cores in the league with also one of the better top two WR pairings as well.
Cons: Not many here to be honest, good draft Nick.
    Grade: A

2. Craig Stalowski (The Nightman Cometh):
Pros: Damn good WR core and White is a great RB choice out of the gate. If Burrow rebounds this year, this team may be dangerous.
Cons: Great tight ends are hard to come by and clearly Craig wasn’t looking that hard; waiver wire could fix this though.
Grade: A

3. Evan Clayton (The Evil Doctor):
Pros: Lamb, Barkley, Henry, Diggs, Kelce are all great selection from Evan and he’s got a decent bench paired along with it.
Cons: Evan’s greatest asset is also his greatest weakness. Henry and Diggs have cleared 30yrs old and are on new rosters. Barkley finds himself on a team where Hurts took all the goal line TDs, and Lamb is coming off a big payday (your drunk uncle’s favorite knock on star players).
Grade: A-

4. Pat Masur (IHOP for Touchdowns):
Pros: Not a bad draft for the BFL’s perennial loser. St Brown, Collins with Ridley and Scary Terry in Flex spots is a great WR core. Kyren Williams is a decent RB1 with potential of Brian Robinson Jr and Jerome Ford carrying some value. A really good looking bench here.
Cons: Leaving CeeDee on the board for Amon-Ra could drag this season down.
Grade: A-

5. Steve Katz (Fantasy Football Team):
Pros: Solid balance on this team and nice bench depth, all with Hurts and Gibbs leading the way.
Cons: No big WRs in my mind, Drake London was a bit of an early pick for me. But what do I know, I’ve come in last 4-times and Katz is in the playoffs every year:
Grade: B+

6. Josh Tucci (Sparta Waffle Eaters):
Pros: Great WR group; even if the Nacua and Aiyuk picks were a bit early in the draft. Couple it with James Cook, Sam LaPorta and probably one of the better bench depths in the league? Josh quietly had a pretty solid draft.
Cons: Not many to be honest, the biggest risk is probably taking Nacua and Aiyuk when Josh did.
Grade: B+

7. Anthony DiMinno (The Bonkers):
Pros: Picking 1OA there’s pressure but how can you not take CMC? When he’s healthy, there is no better player for fantasy. Couple that with Kupp and Jackson? This team could have some bite to it.
Cons: Man, if CMC doesn’t stay healthy, Tony may be screwed.
Grade: B

8. John Williams (Phoenixville Horn Dogs):
Pros: Davante Adams, Garrett Wilson and Mark Andrews are a great big 3. Great draft with Jayden Daniels with an insurance policy with Goff.
Cons: RB leaves a bit to be desired as Achane could be boom or bust depending on the weekly offensive plan in Miami. Not a strong looking bench either.
Grade: B

9. Greg Flohs (Grimace Deez Nuts):
Pros: Grabbing Bijan early and securing Aaron Jones later on gives Greg good security at the RB position. Solid WR core rounds this roster out.
Cons: Malik Nabers could be boom or bust in this Giants offense that’s struggled to throw the ball downfield, and making that pick so early on could bite Greg in the butt. Nevertheless, I think his other draft decisions will save him.
Grade: B

10. Sean Washington (Waffle House Warriors):
Pros: RB core is rather nice and paired along with the JJ and Mike Evans rounds things out nicely.
Cons: Hopefully whoever is throwing JJ the ball in Minnesota can get it to him, or Sean is not going to get all of the value he needs. Bench could use some work too, but we’ll see how the first few weeks shake out.
Grade: B

11. Jimmy Campbell (Gettleman’s Hog Mollies):
Pros: Josh Allen, Breece Hall and Trey McBride are going to be the driving forces of this team.
Cons: No definitive WR1 on this roster is going to be Jimmy’s biggest hurdle out of the gate. Flex spots and bench are a bit unknown in what they can bring to the table
Grade: B-

12. Johnathan Maxson (Team Maxson):
Pros: An abundance of RB talent with AJ Brown and Marvin Harrison Jr topping off the WR core.
Cons: While RBs are a strength, that draft strategy also depleted Johnathan’s depth at WR; and that’s without mentioning Johnathan drafting a rookie WR in the second round. After Marvin Harrison Jr, Johnathan’s next best receiver is Jordan Addison. This bench is also a little shaky looking. I sense a trade or waiver-wire activity in the near term.
Grade: B-
