2024 Power Rankings – Week 9

  1. The Bonkers (6-3; Anthony DiMinno): Ant has an incredibly important mission this week: he can succinctly kick down Nick even further whilst also mathematically removing himself from punishment contention. Even beyond that, this team was scary this past week dropping 135 against our league commissioner. Oh, and by the way to everyone else, CMC may be coming back too.

2. Lambeau Leapin’ Lambs (5-4; Evan Clayton): I know I’m beating a dead horse, but how did we, as a league, allow Evan to draft Barkley and Henry?? Like how many of you were hammered at Greg’s house? I mean Josh and I were sober, and let it happen, so I guess we all have rotten egg on our faces. Anyways, Evan dropped 157 on Craig and I think is one of the scarier teams in the league due to aforementioned mistakes.

3. IHOP for Touchdowns (5-4; Pat Masur): Pat’s team is really coming into their own over these last few weeks. They’ve won 4 of their last 5, and now sit atop of the Brees Division. Sprinkle on top with Nico Collins on the docket to come back, and WOOOF, what a team this could be. Pat looks to continue this good fortune against Josh in week 10.

4. Team Maxson (5-4; Johnathan Maxson): John appears to be the king of losing by slim margins. In 3 out of his 4 losses, John lost by 3pts or less with the latest happening over this past week. If these coin flips go another way, and John could be leading the BFL with an 8-1 record. Sometimes, that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

5. The Nightman Cometh (5-4; Craig Stalowski): Craig relinquishes his brief lead of the Brees division after week 9. Actually, allow me to rephrase that – Craig had his division lead beaten out of him by Evan. Craig’s team looks to rebound in week 10 against another strong opponent in Team Maxson.

6. The Horn Knee Grimace (5-4; Greg Flohs): Time to clean up that spilled Grimace Shake and get back to the win-column! Thankfully for Greg, Sean’s team did not put up too much a fight as Greg failed to clear 100pts in week 9 – but no matter – Greg finally ended that streak. Can he start a different kind of streak with a rematch against Sean?

7. Phoenixville Horn Dogs (5-4; John Williams): John found himself in a juggernaut matchup against Ant, and he just fell short. For both teams they had monster performances from some of their star players; the only difference being, John had more quiet performances than Ant – namely: Puka, Moore and Hock. Things don’t look much easier against Evan this week.

8. Fantasy Football Team (4-5; Steve Katz): Week 9 had huge punishment implications with Steve squaring up against Nick. Steve entered with a 3-game winning streak and a game in hand against Nick. Now with the opportunity to give a 2-game buffer, Steve’s team did not disappoint with Hopkins delivering the keystone performance on MNF. Steve has won 4-in-a-row, and is on a Cinderella run since starting 0-5.

9. Milk Milk Lemonade (4-5; Sean Washington): Quiet weekends from Kyler Murray and Jonathan Taylor did Sean in in week 9 against Greg, but there can be immediate redemption satisfaction as Sean finds himself in a back-to-back against Greg. Take 2, buddy.

10. Gettleman’s Hog Mollies (4-5; Jimmy Campbell): Jimmy looked like he was about to turn a corner to better fortunes. His team has started to play better and he had a 17pt lead going into MNF. All he needed was Xavier Worthy to not get outscored by Cade Otton by at least 17. Worthy defied these orders by scoring -1, and then Otton drops 20+. Ouch, thankfully, you’ve got two games in hand over Nick.

11. Sparta Waffle Eaters (4-5; Josh Tucci): Josh got revenge this past week in the second half of a back-to-back against Johnathan. Winning by a slim margin, Josh has positioned himself in a decent position to be out of the basement. Now with 2 games in hand with 5 weeks to go, Josh may survive punishment with a less-than-mediocre team.

12. K9 Dawg Pound (2-6; Nick Calabrase): Poor Nick – ousted from any kind of hope at the end of MNF with DeAndre Hopkins going off. This author is no stranger to things just going wrong on a weekly basis, even when it feels like your team is doing everything right. Nick is now at least 2 games back from anyone else in the league. The focus now: just win and let the lemons fall where they should.
